Walnut: - Wayne Howard Baney, 94, Walnut Manor Nursing home, Walnut, died Sunday morning at the Walnut Manor after a short illness.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. at the Allen-Garland Funeral Home in Walnut with the Rev. Forrest Hergert, pastor of the Walnut United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Walnut Cemetery. Friends may call at the Allen-Garland Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. A memorial has been established in his memory to the Walnut Manor Nursing home.

Wayne Baney was born on Sept. 12, 1888, in Fithian, the son of John and Malinda Faulkner Baney. He was united in marriage to the former Anna Laura Daugherty on Aug. 12, 1908. She preceded him in death in 1970. He worked as a baker most of his life and had also been employed as a Whey Dryer for Avanti Foods in Walnut. He was a member of the Walnut Masonic Lodge AF&AM 722.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Melvin (LaVonne) Kasten, Walnut; one granddaughter, Mrs. Fred J. Wulf, Arlington Heights; and three great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his wife, parents, one brother, and one infant granddaughter.

Walnut: - Funeral services for Mrs.Elsie Heaton were held at the Ross Funeral Home on Tuesday afternoon, with Rev. Alfred Hunter, pastor of the Walnut Methodist church officiating. The Lord's Prayer, was sung by Mrs. Robert Ewalt and Mrs. Evan Ewalt, with Mrs. Claude Langford playing the accompaniment.

Casket bearers were nephews, William Ewalt Robert Ewalt, Evan Ewalt, Roland Phillips, Velvin Phillips and Howard Heaton. Flowers were cared for by Mrs. J. T. Frederick, Mrs. J. B. McCarthy and Mrs Hugo Kasten. Burial was in Walnut Cemetery.

Other relatives and friends from a distance present for the services were: Edgar Phillips, Ohio; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Phillips, Mrs. Sarah Phillips, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Phillips, Mrs. Howard Heaton, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Puttcamp, Mr. and Mrs. Vilas Hensel, Floyd Dickinson, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Eickmeier, Miss Iva Hensel, Princeton; Mrs. Anna Fordham, Walnut Grove, Minn.; Mrs. Harold Andrews, Dixon; Mrs. Kenneth Heller, DeKalb.
