Mary E. Burnham


Mary E. Burnham, fourth child of Stephen and Hettie Coulter Burnham, was born in Princeton township, August 4, 1843, and died in Kasbeer, Ill., Dec. 18, 1917, aged 74 years, 4 months and 14 days, after a lingering illness of nearly eleven months' duration. She was converted at the age of 15 years and joined the Methodist Protestant Church at Limerick, Ill., under the pastorate of Cornelius Gray, and lived a true Christian life, taking an active part in the various departments of church work, as long as health and strength would permit.

She had two brothers, John Parker and William Burnham, and one sister, Mrs. Eleanor Havens, who preceeded her in death, and leaves one sister, Mr.s J. M. Slutz, with whom made her home for nearly five years and who had tenderly cared for her during her long illness.
