ETHEL M. NELSON CRAIG - 86, of Morton,
formerly of Princeton, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007, at Proctor Hospital,
Peoria. Mrs. Craig was born Oct. 12, 1921, in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter
of Fred and Ester (Hegglmeier) Stocking. She was a 1940 graduate of Bureau
Township High School. She married Leland Nelson on Sept. 22, 1940. He
preceded her in death in March 2002. She then married Billy Craig on Feb.
18, 2006. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church, Henry,
and American Legion Auxiliary Unit 2 and 125, in Peoria and Princeton.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, David (Alene)
Nelson, of Leaf River, and Dennis (Eve) Nelson, of Hiawatha, Iowa; a
brother, Harry Stoner, of Kankakee; a sister, June Cork, of Princeton; one
aunt, Edna Hotaling, of Princeton; three grandchildren, Jeff (Karen) Nelson
and Carol Wright, both of Milledgeville, and Keith Nelson, of Rockford;
seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She also was
preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Stoner (1934) and Sarah Merkel
(2001); and a granddaughter, Amy Nelson.
The funeral is at 11 a.m. Thursday at Norberg
Memorial Home, Princeton, with the Rev. Edward Harkrader, officiating.
Burial is at Prairie Repose Cemetery, Dover. Visitation is from 10;30
to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial may be made to the charity
of the donor's choice.
