OBITUARY
Joseph Danielson
PRINCETON -- Joseph Danielson, 86, of 105 N.
Homer St., Princeton, died at 3:22 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004, at Perry
Memorial Hospital in Princeton.
Born Oct. 20, 1917, in Kasbeer to Hjalmer and
Gerda (Olson) Danielson, he married Arvilla Nordstrom Aug. 2, 1947, in
Princeton. She died May 24, 2001.
He was a member of the First Lutheran Church of
Princeton, Princeton Kiwanis Club, Princeton Optimist Club, Bishop Hill Vasa
Lodge 683 and Bureau County Farm Bureau. He was a Gold Coat at Perry
Memorial Hospital and delivered Mobile Meals.
He had served as director of the Illinois Valley
Rural Electric and Soyland Inc. and the Bureau County and Wyanet Mutual
Insurance Company, and was the recipient of a governor's award by the
Illinois Soil and Water Conservation District Association and the 1999
Conservation Farm Family of the Year. He was a self-employed farmer in
Wyanet Township for many years. He was educated in the Kasbeer and Ohio
schools.
Survivors include five children, Lawrence
Danielson of San Antonio, Texas, Rosa Lea Danielson of Naperville, Stephen
(Julie) Danielson of Princeton, Mary Lynn (Robert) Elliott of Sheffield and
Doris Lou (Ray) Bergles of Geneseo; one sister, Inez Ackland of Kewanee; and
14 grandchildren, Lorenzo, Sean, Marcie, Janelle, Mitch and Lane Danielson,
John, Kevin, Peter and Paul Elliott, and Joey, Jay, Jeni and Jaci Bergles.
Two brothers, Harry and Elmer Danielson; one
sister, Elsie; and one grandson, Daniel Elliott in infancy, all preceded him
in death.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today, Saturday,
in the First Lutheran Church, Princeton, with the Rev. Jerome Diers
officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
Visitation was held Friday in the Norberg
Memorial Home, Princeton.
