MARION DALE FRITZ - 55, 10464 Hoover Rd.,
Rock Falls, died Friday morning in Iowa City Veterans Hospital in Iowa City,
Iowa, following a short illness. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday
morning at 10:30 a.m. at the Allen Funeral Home, Sterling, with Rev. Dalmus
Meeks, pastor of the Harvest Time Bible Church, Rock Falls, officiating.
Burial will be in the Walnut Cemetery, Walnut. Friends may call at
the Allen Funeral Home on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial has been
established in his memory to the Whiteside County Cancer Fund.
Marion Fritz was born on Feb. 21, 1928 in
Walnut, the son of Arthur and Mary Wangelin Fritz. On Oct. 9, 1949 he was
united in marriage to Joyce L. Anderson in Walnut. He was the owner and
operator of the Fritz Trucking, Excavating and Asphalt Company for the past
30 years. He served during the Korean Conflict in the U. S. Army.
Surviving are his wife, Joyce, one daughter,
Mrs. James (Deborah) Kerns, Deer Grove; two sons, Marvin E., Sterling;
Marion Jr., at home; four grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Grace Minier,
Sterling; Mrs. Gladys Stone, Princeton; Mrs. Willard (Evelyn) Jensen, New
Bedford and Mrs. Donald (Marjorie) Watkins, Milledgeville; and one brother,
Bob Fritz, Princeton. Preceding him in death were his parents and three
