Mrs. Mary P. Gerlach Passes Away Friday

Mrs. Mary P. Gerlach, a former resident of Sterling, passed away at 11 a.m. Friday in the Jacksonville, Ill., hospital following an extended illness.

She was born Feb. 21, 1895, in Yorktown, Bureau County, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Kerber.

Surviving are four sons, Harold, Stockton; DeWayne, Prophetstown; Leslie, Rock Falls, and LeRoy, Quincy; one brother, Ben C. Kerber, Sterling; one sister, Mrs. Bertha Lang, Manlius; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.

The body was brought to the Melvin Funeral Home where friends may call after noon on Sunday. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the funeral home, with the Rev. Earl Peters, pastor of the Yorktown Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Yorktown Cemetery.
