Hooppole - Darrell R. Greenwood, 46, died Sunday afternoon in the Veteran's hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Hooppole Zion United Methodist Church with burial in the Hooppole Cemetery. Visitation is from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Gardner Chapel, Prophetstown. A memorial has been established in his memory.

Mr. Greenwood was born May 6, 1934 in Geneseo, the son of Chester and Marjorie (Krug) Greenwood. He attended the Hooppole and Annawan schools. He was united in marriage to June Pugh of Cutler on March 8, 1980 in Hooppole. He lived in rural Prophetstown all his life and farmed in the Prophetstown and Hooppole areas. He was a member of the Hooppole Zion United Methodist Church and served during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his wife, June; three daughters, Kristine Edwards of Oelwein, Iowa, Donna and Beth Greenwood, both of Erie; one son, Timothy of Morrison; two grandchildren; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Greenwood of Hooppole and two sisters, Mrs. Donald (Helen) Croegart of Geneseo and Mrs. Everett (Marlene) Frank of Peoria.

He was preceded in death by one sister and one brother, both in infancy.
