Tampico: - Neil R. Gustafson, 40, of Route One, Tampico, died Monday morning at the Moline Lutheran Hospital.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Yorktown St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Rev. Joyce Heintz officiating. Burial will be in the Walnut Cemetery where military rites will be accorded. Visitation will be today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut with the family present from 7-9 p.m. only. There will be a masonic service at 8:30 p.m. A memorial has been established to the Yorktown Lutheran Church.

Mr. Gustafson was born on Aug. 16, 1946, in Princeton, the son of Raymond and Dorothy Vetter Gustafson. He was united in marriage to Diane Von Holten on Aug. 29, 1971 in Rock Falls. The deceased was involved in a trucking business and farmed in the Tampico area. He was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Yorktown, past president of the church, member of the church council, served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, member of the Hooppole American Legion, Eshelman-Talley-Doye Post; and the Hooppole Masonic Lodge 886 AF-AM.

Survivors include his wife Diane of Tampico; one daughter, Lynnette, and one son, Corey, both at home; his mother, Mrs. Dorothy Gustafson of Walnut; two sisters, Mrs. Silvia Thompson of Walnut, and Mrs. Jeff Elaine Forward of Tampico; and one brother, Kurt of Walnut.

He was preceded in death by his father and both maternal and paternal grandparents.
