Luella Hardesty, Walnut, Succumbs

Walnut: - Mrs. Luella Mae Haradesty, 74, Walnut, died Wednesday afternoon at Walnut Manor Nursing Home. Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Ross Funeral Home at Walnut, with the Rev. Eugene Spradling, First Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairfield-Greenville Cemetery. Friends may visit the funeral home Thursday from 7 - 9 p.m.

Mrs. Hardesty was born July 20, 1899 in New Bedford, the daughter of Henry and Mary Baxter Wescott. She married Cleve Hardesty on Feb. 2, 1918.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Earlene) Johnson, Moline; Mrs. Flossie Elgin, Sterling; two sons, LaVerne, Moline; Kenneth, Walnut; 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; one brother, Clarence Wescott, Roseburg, Ore.; three sisters, Mrs. Pearl Norman and Mrs. Merle (Evelyn) Lathrop, both of Rock Falls, and Mrs. Mabel Rogers, Tampico. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, one brother, one grandson and one great granddaughter.
