VERNON L. HARP
Manlius: - Vernon L. Harp, 64, Manlius, died
early this Tuesday morning in Perry Memorial Hospital, Princeton.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2
p.m. at the Howard-Johnson Funeral Home, Manlius, with the Rev. David
Clardie, a member of the family, officiating. Burial will be in the
Manlius Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at
the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Manlius Rescue Unit.
Vernon Harp was born on April 2, 1919, in Olive
Branch, the son of Fred and Mary and Kay Wood. On Aug. 26, 1939 he married
Florence Parker in Charleston, Mo. He retired from the grocery business
which he was in his entire life. He was a veteran of World War II.
Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. P. M. (Muriel)
Morris and Mrs. Cory (Deedee) Hartz, both of Warrensburg, Mo., Mrs. Gerald
(Carol) Forbeck, Tiskilwa, Mrs. Kenneth (Linda) Jensen, Bettendorf, Ia.,
Mrs. Andrew (Verna) Word and Mrs. David (Kathy) Piper, both of Princeton;
two sons, Vernon Jr., and James, both of Manlius; 19 grandchildren and two
sisters, Pat Harp, Metropolis, and Mrs. Carol Womack, Grafton.
Preceding him in death were his parents, three
brothers and one sister.
