CHARLES HOPKINS

Funeral Rites Tuesday For Chas. Hopkins at Walnut Funeral Home

Charles Hopkins, 25, of Mount Morris, died Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Cook County Hospital, where he was taken Monday suffering from a serious illness. The immediate cause of his death was pneumonia following surgery Wednesday night.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Walnut Christian Church. Burial will be in the Walnut Cemetery.

The body has been removed to the Ross Funeral Home in Walnut where friends may call this evening.

Mr. Hopkins was born Feb. 6, 1921, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Hopkins, near Walnut, and grew up in that community. He was married to Ruby Allen of Putnam, Ill., Nov. 1941, and had always lived near Walnut until they moved to Mount Morris in September of 1946.

He leaves his parents, wife and two sons, Billy, four, and Eugene, two. He is also survived by four sisters, Mary at home, Mrs. Robert Stehl of Deer Grove, Mrs. Anton Janicek of Michigan, and Mrs. Luella Zumdahl of Mount Morris, and brothers, Clarence at home, and Orville of Harmon. Elmer Hopkins, a brother, was killed in Japan last Spring.
