AMELIA (Rosenow) HURST
Walnut: - Mrs. Amelia (Millie) Hurst, 85, Walnut Manor Nursing Home, Walnut,
died Saturday afternoon at the Walnut Manor after a long illness. Funeral
services will be held on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Allen-Garland Funeral
Home, Walnut, with Rev. Jeffrey L. Otto, pastor of the Trinity Lutheran
Church, Manlius, officiating. Burial will be in the Manlius Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A
memorial has been established to the Trinity Lutheran Church Manlius, and
the Walnut Manor Nursing Home.
Amelia Hurst was born on Dec. 8, 1897, in Bureau County, the daughter of
Fred and Christine Schmidt Rosenow. On Dec. 25, 1921 she was united in
marriage to Chester Hurst in Manlius. He preceded her in death on April 28,
1961. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Manlius, the Ladies
Aid Society, and the World War II mothers of Manlius.
Surviving are two daughters (only one named) , Mrs. Forrest (Leora)
Peterson, Walnut; seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband, parents, and one son, Owen Hurst.
