Albert W. Johnson Rites Held in Dixon
New Bedford: - Albert Wilhelm Johnson, son
of the late Andrew M. and Emma Johnson, was born near Thomas, Ill., on Oct.
23, 1884 and died Wednesday morning June 12, at his home at 312 North Park
Ave., in Sterling.
He spent most of his life in the vicinity of his
birth, attended public and parochial schools and was active in community
affairs. He was reared in the Lutheran faith and became a member of the
Swedish Lutheran Church in Fairfield at an early age.
On Feb 18, 1925, he married Miss Jane Peterson
of St. Paul, Minn. He was engaged in farming in Bureau County until 1939
when he moved to a farm in Lee County where he resided until he retired and
moved to Dixon. In 1945, he moved to Sterling where he made his home until
He is survived by his wife and two sisters, Mrs.
Ida E. Monson, Walnut; and Miss Regina V. Johnson, Rock Island, nieces,
nephews and hosts of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a
sister, Julia, and a brother Reuben.
Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. June 15 at the Chapel Hill
Funeral Home at Dixon with Dr. Alfred L. Grewe, Sterling, officiating.
Burial was in Chapel Hill Memorial Park in Dixon.
