GAIL R. JOHNSON - 79, of Princeton died Sunday, September 1, 2002, at Dixon Health Care Center. He owned and operated Johnson Motors, Princeton, for 30 years, retiring in 1983.

Mr. Johnson was born May 23, 1923, in Bureau, the son of Homer and Darlene (Sandeen) Johnson. He was a 1941 graduate of Bureau Township High School. He married Jeanne Smith on Aug. 28, 1948, in Nachusa. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Princeton.

Survivors include his wife: tow sons, Steven Johnson of Princeton and Mark (Mindey) Johnson of Deerfield; two daughters, Barbara (Scott) Larson of Kalamazoo, Mich., and Pamela Sterling of Princeton; a brother, Donald (Sharon) Johnson of Princeton; a sister, Winifred (Frank) Collins of Hurst, Texas; a sister-in-law, Marge Johnson of Princeton, and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, J. B. Johnson.

Graveside service is at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Oakwood Cemetery, Dixon, with Rev. Harold Burkey, pastor of Mendota Bible Church, officiating. There is no visitation. Arrangements by Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, Dixon.
