Hjalmar Johnson Of Walnut Passes Away
Walnut: - Hjalmar Johnson, 81, died at 2:30 a.m. Thursday at the Rest Haven
Nursing Home at Dixon following an illness of two years. The body was
removed to the Ross Funeral Home where friends may call Friday evening.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home Saturday at 2:30 p.m., the
Rev. E. V. Hallock, pastor of the Walnut Christian Church, officiating.
Burial will be in the Walnut Cemetery.
Mr. Johnson was born Sept. 23, 1875, in Sweden. He came to the United States
in 1891 and was married to Alma Stromberg in St. Louis, Mo., in 1897. They
came to Walnut to live 10 years ago. Mrs. Johnson died in 1950.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Howard Jaquet, Mrs. Philip Magnuson, both
of Walnut; four granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs.
Amanda Lindquist, San Francisco, Calif., and two brothers, Emil Johnson, St.
Louis, Mo.; and Herman Johnson, in Sweden.
