William O. Jones, 99, Manlius, Dies Wednesday

Manlius: - William O. Jones, 99, retired businessman and oldest resident of the Manlius area, died Wednesday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Bert B. Miller, after an extended illness. The body was removed to the Howard Johnson Funeral Home where friends may call Friday evening from 7 to 9. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Manlius Cemetery.

Mr. Jones was born July 1, 1857, at Malden, the son of William and Lucinda Jones. He was married to Ella Pope on Feb. 15, 1883, at DePue. He was engaged in various businesses in the Manlius community for a number of years.

Survivors, in addition to his daughter, Mrs. Miller, with whom he made his home, are Mrs. Cora Scholle, San Gabriel, Calif.; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, two sons and one daughter.
