OBITUARY
Maxine Jontz
BUDA -- Maxine Alice Jontz, 81, of Buda died at
3:10 p.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at Valley Lutheran Medical Center in
Mesa, Ariz.
Born May 12, 1922, in Buda to Charlie and Katie
(Philhower) Bitting, she married Lowell M. Jontz May 29, 1943, in Buda. He
survives.
A homemaker, she was an active member of the
Buda United Methodist Church, taught Sunday school and was a member of Women
Society of Christian Services.
Also surviving are one son, Dennis (Mary Ann)
Jontz of Albuquerque, N.M.; one daughter, Sheryle (Mark) VanDeWater III of
Atlanta, Ga.; four grandchildren, Ashlee Jontz of Tempe, Ariz., Charles
Jontz of Albuquerque, N.M., Mark VanDeWater IV of Alpharetta, Ga., and Kim
(John) Rogers of Cumming, Ga.; and three great-grandchildren, Jake Rogers,
Jared Rogers and Mark VanDeWater V.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one
brother, Clarence F. Bitting.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Buda
United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bruce Rushing officiating. Burial will
be in Hopeland Cemetery, Buda.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday in
the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Buda.
