CHARLES L. LONG
Former Hooppole Man Passes At Mineral
Hooppole: - Charles L. Long, 77, a retired
farmer who lived at Mineral, died yesterday at 1:45 p.m. at his home after a
lingering illness. He had previously farmed near Hooppole.
Mr. Long was born July 27, 1875, at Galesburg,
the son of W. H. H. and Barbara Long. He was married May 30 1902, to
Hortense Pratt of New Boston. They celebrated their golden wedding
anniversary this past spring. He was a member of the First Methodist church
Survivors are his widow; four sons, Chester and
Arnold of Tampico, Forrest of Mineral, and Warren of Hooppole; a sister,
Mrs. John Handebode of Kewanee; two brothers, John of Kewanee and Theodore
of Maywood, Calif.; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, five
sisters and two brothers. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at
the Cavanagh-Schueneman Funeral Home in Kewanee, where the body now rests.
