Jules Maes Succumbs

Tampico: - Jules Maes, 95, a former Tampico resident, died Wednesday afternoon at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Morrison. Funeral services are pending at Schmitt Funeral Chapel in Tampico and will be announced later. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Kewanee. Friends may call at Schmitt Chapel from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. A memorial has been established. Jules Maes was born in Adegen, Belgium, Jan. 24, 1880, the son of Charles and Amelie Maes. He married Elodie Van Hauwenhuyze and she preceded in 1939. Survivors include three sons, Edmond and Raymond of Prophetstown, and Charles of Neponset, 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and one half-brother Edmond Tierentyn of Kewanee. He was preceded by his wife, one daughter and one great granddaughter.
