Clarence ‘Flash’ Malcolm, 80 of 121 W. Paul St.
Spring Valley died at 10:11 am. May 29, 1999 in St. Margaret Hospital,
Services will be at 9:40 a.m. Wednesday in the
Barto Funeral Home, Spring Valley and at 10 a.m. in the Immaculate
Conception Catholic Church. The Rev. Paul Meismer will officiate. Cremation
will be at the Schultz Crematory, Streator.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today in the funeral
home with a rosary service at 7 p.m.
He was born Nov. 16, 1918 in Spring Valley to
Theresa O’Bierne (O’Byrne). He married Aphalia Lenzi on July 30, 1938 at St.
Thomas More Catholic Church, Dalzell.
He was a member of the Immaculate Conception
Catholic Church, Spring Valley and Teamsters Local 722, LaSalle. He also was
the owner of Malcolm’s Tap, Malcolm’s Grocery Store, Malcolm’s Baby Land and
the Spring Valley Standard Station, all in Spring Valley.
Survivors are his wife Aphalia of Spring Valley,
a son Ron (Cheri) Malcolm of Dalzell; two daughters Jeanne and Jan Malcolm
both of Spring Valley; nine grand children and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother and
stepfather, Dan Pohl.
