OBITUARY
LAWRENCE E. MYERS
Cape Coral, Fla: - Lawrence E. Myers, 70,
died Tuesday at the Cape Coral Hospital in Cape Coral, Fla. Funeral services
will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. at the Metz Funeral Home in Cape Coral,
Fla.
Lawrence Myers was born in Ansley, Neb., on Jan.
22, 1913, the son of Thomas and Nettie Harris Myers. He received his
education in the Illinois schools and upon completion was united in marriage
to Ruby L. Matthews of Augusta on June 24, 1937. They made their home in
Good Hope where they owned and operated a grain dealership. In 1942 he
joined the Masonic Lodge in Augusta and became a Master Mason as well as
belonging to the Consistory and the Shrine.
In 1953 they moved to Walnut and purchased the
Hahnaman Elevator in Deer Grove in which he was active until retiring in
1974. Also he was a member of the First Christian Church, Walnut, where he
served as Deacon and of the Illinois Grain Delaers Association. On July 10,
1962 he married Elizabeth Liggett.
Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth; one daughter,
Mrs. John (Judith) Perino; one son, Jerry; one step-daughter, Jayne Kepner;
two brothers, Robert and Richard; eight grandchildren; two
step-grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, two
brothers and two sisters.
