OBITUARY
Norma Olson
WALNUT -- Norma A. Olson, 80, of 8165 2700 North
Ave., Walnut, died Monday, Dec. 27, 2004, from injuries received in an auto
accident in Hahnaman Township.
Born Aug. 24, 1924, on a farm near Thomas to
Gunnar and Eleanar (Swanson) Johnson, she married John W. Olson Dec. 29,
1946, in Trinity Lutheran Church in Manlius. He survives.
She attended the Whittington and Center schools,
Tampico High School and graduated from Manlius High School in 1942. She
attended the American Institute of Commerce in Davenport, Iowa, before
moving to Chicago where she worked for the Pullman Co. She also worked at
Kraft Foods in Manlius and Bureau Service Co. during her lifetime. She was
currently the Greenville Township clerk and Greenville Fairfield Cemetery
sexton in New Bedford.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in
Manlius, where she initiated the blood drive at the church and was actively
involved in various church activities and functions for many years. She was
a former member of the Bryant Club in Walnut, a 50-year member of Royal
Neighbors of America and the Walnut American Legion Auxiliary.
Also surviving are two sons, Larry (Diana) Olson
of Bristow, Va., and Randall (Barbara) Olson of Plano, Texas; one daughter,
Cynthia (Douglas) Dahl of Walnut; one sister, Virginia Mathews of Greenwood,
Ind.; one brother-in-law, Roy Velde of Morrison; six grandchildren, Kevin (Thuy
Lan) Olson, Craig Olson, Katie (Jack) Peterson, Kristin Dahl, Timothy Olson
and Karin Olson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins in the area and in
Sweden.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one
sister, Marian Velde; one brother, LeRoy Johnson; and twin brothers, Albert
