Mrs. Rassmussan Dead - Former Resident of Fairfield Township, Bureau Co. Died in Nebraska

Funeral Services Were Held Saturday in Tampico

The remains of Mrs. Mary Rasmussan were brought here Friday morning and the funeral services were held at 12 o'clock at the M. E. Church, Rev. Mr. Potter officiating. The funeral cortege then proceeded to the Whittington Cemetery where burial was made. Mary Johnson was born in Denmark, Dec. 9, 1838. She was married to Lars Rasmussen April 1 1870, coming to Sheffield the same year. For several years they made their home in Fairfield Township and then moved west. She had been in poor health for some time and died at her home in Bennett, Neb., Mar. 16, 1910. She was a member of the Lutheran Church and was a good christian wife and mother. She leaves to mourn her departure, a husband, one son, Victor, four brothers and one sister, John, Peter K., and Christian reside in this vicinity, James in Newton, Ia., and Dorothy at Agra, Kas. Two brothers have gone before her.
