OBITUARY

 

CARL ROBERTS, 72, DIED; RITES FRIDAY

Funeral services for Carl Roberts, 72, were held at 2 p.m. Friday at Norberg Memorial Home with the Rev. E.T. Beaver officiating. Burial was in Elm Lawn Memorial Park, Sioux City, Iowa.

Mr. Roberts, formerly of this area, died in Manteno. He was born Aug. 21, 1883, in Bureau county, the son of Chris and Marguerita Casterson Roberts. He farmed most of his lifetime, and at one time he was Bureau county champion corn husker.

Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Rose Spies, Bureau, and Mrs. Dora Wyatt, Taos, N.M., two brothers, Harry Roberts, Lewistown, Montana and John Roberts, Wyanet. Also surviving are cousins, nephews, and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, two brothers, Chris and Andrew Roberts, and a half brother, Fred Rabe.
