ANN M. (Johnson) SHERE

Prophetstown: - Mrs. Ann M. Shere, 51, RR 1, Prophetstown, died unexpectedly at her home on Sunday.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the United Methodist Church, Prophetstown, with the Rev. Bruce Janes, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Yorktown Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at the Gardner Chapel.

A memorial has been established for the Prophetstown Ambulance Service.

Ann Shere was born on Nov. 16, 1931 in Sterling, the daughter of LeRoy and Mildred Allen Johnson. She was educated at Prophetstown High School. On March 6, 1948 she married Art Shere of Yorktown in the Leon United Methodist Church. They owned and operated the Prophetstown Dry Cleaners from 1968 to 1978. She was presently employed at the office or Rock River Grain and Lumber Company, Prophetstown. She was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Monty (Sue) Lindberg, Prophetstown; one son, Thomas, Prophetstown; and three grandchildren.
