GEORGE STEELE
George Steele Services Set
Walnut: - George Steele, 76, rural Walnut, died early Monday morning at his
home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Ross Funeral
Home, Walnut. The Rev. Allen Fedder, pastor of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church
will officiate. Burial will be in the Walnut Cemetery. Visitation will be
after 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
George Steele was born Oct. 16, 1899 at Steelesville, Ill., the son of Tom
and Edith Kline Steele. He married Mrs. Minnie Busse Hicks in Morrison, Jan.
17, 1931. He farmed in this area the last 45 years.
Survivors include his widow. two sons, Don Steele of Walnut and Leland
Steele of Princeton; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Peterson of Indianapolis,
Ind., and Miss Eva Steele of Walnut; one step-son, Walter Hicks of LaSalle,
and eight grandchildren.
