OBITUARY
ELLEN (Robertson) STRACHAN
Mrs. Ellen Strachan, 94, Polo, Dies, Rites Will
Be Held Sunday
Polo: - Mrs. Ellen Strachan, 94, 201 N.
Congress St., died about 6;30 p.m. at her home in Polo. The body was removed
to the McNabb Funeral Home where friends may call after 7 p.m. this evening.
Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home Sunday at 1:30 p.m.,
the Rev. Ira Wilson, pastor of the Emmanuel Evangelical United Brethren
Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Winslow cemetery at Belle
Plain, Iowa.
Mrs. Strachan was born Aug. 5, 1856 in Powshick
County, Iowa, the daughter of Simeon and Missouri Robertson. She was married
to Robert Strachan on Nov. 19, 1884 in Marengo, Iowa.
Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Anna DeNune,
Chelsea, Iowa; Mrs. Pearl Yount, Dixon; Mrs. Naomi Coats and Mrs. Mary
Strachan, both of Polo; five sons, Harold, Polo; Dewey, Belle Plain, Iowa;
Robert, Manasus, Va.; Leonard, Skokie; Earl, Green Bay, Wis.; 13
grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren
and one brother William Robertson, Belle Plain, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her husband and
three sons.
