Marion Swanson

Princeton -- Marion Dale "Bud" Swanson, 89 of 13336 Lovers Lane, Princeton, died at 10:30 p.m. Saturday, June 19, 2004, at his home.

Born April 6, 1915, in Kasbeer to Charles William and Bessie Mae (Helm) Swanson, he married Elinor C. Wilson Aug. 18, 1935, in Princeton. She died June 18, 2004.

He was an auto body man at Nieman's Body Shop. He started Bud and Tom's Auto Repair in 1949 and retired in 1979.

He was a member of the Princeton Bible Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Carol (Fred) Pierson of Princeton; two sisters, Jane (R. L.) Charles of Pearl City and Ruth (Wes) Swanson-Solberg of Centralia, Washington; four grandson, Mark (Pam) Pierson of Princeton, Alan (Susan) Pierson of Somonauk, Tim (Erika) Pierson of Dwight and Stephen Pierson of Burbank, Calif.; five great-grandchildren, Zackery, Samantha, Ian, Leland and Adline Pierson; and nieces and nephews.

He also was preceded in death by three sisters, Gertrude Hultine-Nygren, Helen Coville and Blanche (Cecil) Conklin; and one brother, Howard.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today, Tuesday, in Summers Chapel at Oakland Cemetery, Princeton, with the Rev. Jon Olinger officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour before the services in the chapel.

Memorials may be directed to the Princeton Bible Church.

The Norberg Memorial Home in Princeton is in charge of arrangements.
