TODD W. SWEARINGEN - 9, Route 1, Walnut, was dead on arrival at Perry Memorial Hospital, Princeton, Sunday evening from injuries received in an auto accident one mile southeast of Walnut. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Allen-Garland Funeral home in Walnut. The Rev. Keith Simmons, pastor of the First Nazarene Church of Walnut, will officiate. Burial will be in Walnut Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial has been established.

Todd was born Sept. 7, 1972 in Sterling, the son of Norman and Karen Sue (Lange) Swearingen Jr. He was a fifth grade student at Walnut Grade School and a member of the Sox PeeWee Baseball Team in Walnut.

Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Swearingen Jr., of Walnut; one brother, Tim, and two sisters, Tina and Trisha, all at home; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Jessie Freeburg, Walnut; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Lange, Princeton; and paternal grandfather, Norman Swearingen Sr., Kewanee. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather.
