OBITUARY
Laura Tiemann
SHEFFIELD -- Laura Tiemann, 96, of Sheffield
died at 1:20 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, 2004, at her home.
Born June 1, 1907, in Kewanee to Achille and
Elizabeth (Hilleware) Beauprez, she married Frederick Tiemann in April of
1930 in Kewanee. He died Sept. 24, 1966.
She attended Visitation Grade School in Kewanee.
She was a business woman in Kewanee for more than 45 years. She owned and
operated the A&W Root Beer stands in Kewanee and Wethersfield, and became a
franchise operator of Sandy's Inc. She also owned and operated the Maid Rite
in Kewanee.
She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi
Catholic Church and the Flemish American Club, both in Kewanee.
Survivors include two daughters, Elaine
Vandersnick of Annawan and Lorraine (Mike) Clucas of Galva; one son,
Frederick "Mickey" (Bonlyn) Tiemann of Godfrey; one brother, Edmund Beauprez
of Kewanee; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by her parents;
three brothers, John in infancy, and Maurice and Rene; one son-in-law,
Eugene; one daughter, Elsie Tiemann; and one grandson, Gary Vandersnick.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a
memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. today, Thursday, in St. Francis
of Assisi Catholic church, Kewanee, with the Rev. Chris Haake as the
celebrant. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Kewanee.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time
of services today in the church.
Memorials may be directed to the family for a
