OBITUARY
Joseph Urbanski
SPRING VALLEY -- Joseph T. Urbanski, 86, of 307
Elm St., Spring Valley, and for the last two years at the LaSalle Veterans
Home, died at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 4, 2003, at St. Margaret's Hospital in
Spring Valley.
Born Dec. 30, 1917, in DePue to Stanley and
Frances (Tuszkowski) Urbanski, he married Louise Gedvilas May 5, 1951, in
St. Anne Catholic Church, Spring Valley, by the late Rev. William Kwinn. She
survives.
He worked for Signal Delivery Service in Chicago
for 40 years until retiring. He was a World War II veteran, serving with the
U.S. Army, Battery B 451 Anti-Aircraft Division in the North African and
European theater of operators as a staff sergeant.
He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church
in Spring Valley, the Musicians Union and the DePue VFW. He played for the
Combolaros Trio Band for many years.
Also surviving are one daughter, Carol (Timothy)
Feltes of Ottawa; and one brother, Al Urbanski of Spring Valley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three
brothers and two sisters.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St.
Anthony Catholic Church, Spring Valley, with the Rev. Joseph Hogan
officiating. Burial will be in Valley Memorial Park, Spring Valley, with
full military rites conducted by the LaSalle Oglesby Veterans Memorial
Group.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m.
Wednesday in the church.
