J. MARION VanDeMARK - Manlius: J. Marion
VanDeMark, 59, Rock Falls, died Wednesday afternoon in the Peoples Hospital
in Peru, where he had been taken a short time earlier, following a heart
Mr. Van De Mark was born May 8, 1901 in Tampico,
the son of Fred S. and Minerva Elizabeth Arnold VanDeMark. He was married to
Catherine Saltzman of Ohio on Jan. 28, 1938 in Anamosa, Iowa. He was a sales
representative for the Occo Feeds Company and was making calls at the time
of the attack. He had lived in Manlius for several years where he was
employed by the Brown's Drug Store. He was baptized in the Tampico Methodist
Church and was a member of Ohio Lodge 814 AF & AM.
Survivors are his widow, one brother Vernon,
Dayton, Ohio; four sisters, Mrs. J. B. (Mary) Brown, Manlius; Mrs. Douglas
(Ethel) Kohn, Milwaukee, Wis.; Mrs. R. H. La Vonne) St. John and Mrs. Lewis
(Fern) Vail, both of Tulsa, Okla. He was preceded in death by his parents
and one sister.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2
p.m. in the Johnson Funeral Home in Manlius, the Rev. Earl Edward, pastor of
the Ohio Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Union
Cemetery in Ohio. A memorial has been established by his family with
funds to be given to the heart fund.
