Hold Funeral Rites For David VanOrmer

Manlius: - Funeral services for David Harold VanOrmer were held in the Trinity Lutheran church Saturday, Nov. 15, at 2:30 p.m., with Rev. Robert Engen in charge. Burial was in Manlius Cemetery.

Mrs. Owen Hurst, of Walnut was soloist, accompanied by Mrs. Virgil Hurst. Pallbearers were Bill Doty, Larry Hurst, Robert Hartz, Clifford Gaunt, William Martin and Richard Johnson. Assisting with the floral tributes were Judy Allen, Marlene Thomas, Mary Kirkpatrick, Marva Lou Johnson and Virginia Bollnow, all junior class members.

David Harold VanOrmer, son of Lloyd and Pearl VanOrmer, was born in Princeton, March 27, 1936. He attended Manlius grade school and high school, and was a member and vice president of the junior class. He was active in dramatics, music and athletics. He was a faithful member of the Trinity Lutheran church, having confirmed his faith on May 28, 1950. He was active in Sunday school. He had a perfect attendance record for six years and served as an officer. He was also a member of the Luther League.

He died Nov. 11, and is survived by his parents.
