OBITUARY
Bernice Zagar
DEPUE -- Bernice A. Zagar, 90, formerly of DePue
and for the past three years of Kenner, La., where she lived with her
daughter, died at 6 a.m. Monday, Nov. 29, 2004, at the Chateau Living Center
in Kenner.
Born June 15, 1914, in Spring Valley to Ralph
and Settima (Vignochi) Chiesi, she married Anton Zagar Oct. 3, 1937, in
Spring Valley. He died Sept. 9, 1984.
She worked at Westclox in Peru until retiring.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in
DePue and the St. Anne Sodality of the church.
Survivors include one son, Ron Zagar of Spring
Valley; one daughter, Diane (Gerald) Fornoff of Kenner, La.; and three
grandsons, Ron and Brian Zagar, and Ryan Fornoff.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers,
one sister and three half brothers.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the
Barto Funeral Home, DePue, and at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church,
DePue, with the Rev. Kevin Creegan officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's
Cemetery, DePue.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday in
the funeral home, where a rosary service will be conducted at 6:30 p.m.
Memorials may be directed to St. Mary's Catholic
