E. Street, Walnut, died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 1999 at the Walnut Manor Nursing
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at
Kasbeer Community Church, with the Rev. John Fowler, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be at Red Oak Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be
accorded by the Walnut American Legion Post 179. Visitation will be from 7-9
p.m. Friday at Garland Funeral Home, Walnut. A memorial has been established
to the Kasbeer Community Church.
Mr. Ziegler was born Sept. 20, 1920 near
Arcadia, Wis., the son of William and Esther (Lubkie) Ziegler. He married
Aneta Guither on Sept. 1, 1949, at the Red Oak Church. She survives. He
served more than three years in the military during World War II in the
Pacific Theater. He farmed in the Walnut area for 39 years and worked
part-time for the John Deere dealer in Walnut for many years. He was a
member of the Kasbeer Community Church, the Farm Bureau, where he served on
the board, the Red Oak Brotherhood and the Walnut American Legion Post 179.
Survivors include two daughters, Deanna Ziegler
of Elk Grove Village and Twyla (Bill) Spoolstra of Elmhurst; three sons,
Bryan (Sheri) Ziegler of Ottumwa, Iowa, Rowen (Annetta) Ziegler of La Harpe
and Gavin Ziegler of Rock Island; three brothers, Wayne Ziegler of
Valparaiso, Ind., Eldon Ziegler of Kansas City, Mo., and Linus Zigler of
Kenosha, Wis.; a sister, Irene Ziegler of San Mateo, Calif.; eight
grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and a
