Foutch Cemetery

Foutch Cemetery is located in Section 27 of Isabel Township. Take Route 100 in a southwesterly direction. It is located about one half mile south of Junction 136 and Route 100. You will see a sign for the Foutch Cemetery on the right-hand side of the road. Make a sharp turn there at the sign and go up a hill on a gravel road. History of the Foutch Cemetery, submitted by Alice Herren: 9 June 1835 W 1/2 of Section 27, Isabel twp., John Foutch & wife Jehodia (Rhea) bought 80 acres from Elijah Terrill & wife. Hugh Foutch bought E 1/2 = 80 acres, of section 22, Isabel twp. from Elijah Terrill. Section 22 was originally sold 2 Dec 1839 (filed in court March 2, 1840) to James Gardner, and was thereafter called James Gardner graveyard. This piece of land was sold to Garner by John Foutch, Jr.

In 26 Jan 1877, John Foutch and Letitia (Ferris) his wife deeded part of their land (1 32/100 acres ) for $100 to be used by the township of Isabel and SOLD ONLY FOR A GRAVEYARD. IT IT WERE EVER USED FOR ANYTHING ELSE, THEN THE DEED IS VOID.
