Temple Cemetery Name/Death Index

Churchill
Temple Cemetery is
located in Section 16 of Farmers Township. In
February 1839, Absalom and Elizabeth
deeded the cemetery and in 1895, David G. And Sarah Miner gave a deed for the
same lot to
William Miner, Jonas Wright and Enos Tarter of the Missionary Baptist Burying
Ground. Since
there were discrepancies in the deed, R. Scott Miner and his wife, Eleanor,
cleared the title,
in 1917, and deeded it again to the Temple cemetery.
The earliest date that we know of seems to
be that of Rev. John Miner (see picture below)
whose death was May 20, 1838. The eldest person at the time of death was
Mary, wife of Joseph Morley, who died at 103 years (see picture below).
Directions: Turn left on Temple Road (1550N)
off of County Road 34. Follow
the road as it twists and turns. You'll see it on the left-hand side
of the road. It's very well-kept!

From Adair, turn off on Route 136
at North 950th Rd. and go east until 950N becomes Temple Road. Follow
Temple Road to the cemetery on the left/north side of the road.
