New Hope School: 1909
Lawson E. & Anna (Campbell) BISHOP had 11 children, all of them
graduating from the 8th grade at this New Hope School. I would say the Bishop
children in the picture are theirs. Also their oldest son Ray Merle BISHOP was
the first to enlist in the WWI, May 1917. He was killed in action 18 May 1918
and was the first man from Fulton Co. to lose his life in this war. The Bishop
Post of the American Legion at Lewistown was named in his honor.
