My brickwall is Hiram BARKER, Hiram was born about 1826 in Indiana or Kentucky and was an early settler in Fulton County Illionis. My earliest proof on this family is Page 9 of the 1850 Census for Liverpool Twp. Line 13 is Mary Putnam age 73; living with her (line 14) is a John Barker age 18. He is too young to be her son; but, a Mary Putnam married a William Barker, 08/11/1831. This John was born about a year later. Is he William and Mary's son, perhaps a grand son of this Mary (ln 13)? Line 15 is Alan Barker age 43. Line 16 is wife Gilla. Allen Barker married Gilla Fouts, 04/14/1834. Lines 17-21 are their clildren; Drucilla, Sarah, William, Lura, and Lewis.[Gilla and infant son, John Barker, died in abt 1851.] Line 22 is Hiram Barker, #23 is wife Jane, #24 John R.[my great-grand father] and #25 Juliana Barker. 1 am sure these three families are related but I do no know how. In 1860 only Hiram and family are there. The 1870 census Liverpool Township page 16 Line 19 Jane Barker, line 20 Lewis Estes (Jane's father) Lines 21-25 her children; Allen. DruSilla, Sarah, William, and Emaline. John Barker is line 26, his wife Rebecca (SHAW)is on line 27 and their daughter Emaline is on line 28. My grandmother Theresa Emaline Barker was born 11 Nov 1869 near Bryant, Fulton Co., Illinois and died 18 May 1941, in Dinuba, Tulare Co., California. note: Jane Estes Barker later married Lewis Bordwine. Her daughter Sarah Evelyn Barker, married John Henry Bordwine.
