Obit from the Oquawka Spectator 21 May 1902.
McFARLAND, James McFarland, a former resident of Gladstone, from whence he removed 1890, died at London Mills, Fulton Co., Ill., May 16, 1902, after an illness of over a year from liver trouble, aged 64 years, 5 months and 24 days. It was his desire that he be buried in Oquawka cemetery alongside his wife, who died in 1892, and his daughters, Lena and Deedie, who died in 1879 and 1880, respectively, of consumption. Relatives asked the Mosonic lodge of this place to make arrangements for the burial and a committee from that lodge met them and the remains at the afternoon train Saturday, when he was buried with the ritual of the order. He leaves two sons and a daughter and his second wife. Oquawka Spectator
