FORMER AUGUSTA HOLKE DIES IN ROCK ISLAND AT AGE OF 83

Funeral services for Mrs. Augusta Borst, 83, a native of Geneseo were held January 7th at the Hodgson Funeral home, Rock Island with Rev. Frederick J. Rolf, Pastor of the church of Peace in Rock Island, officiating. Burial was in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery . Mrs. Borst died Saturday, January 4th, in St. Anthony's Hospital, Rock Island , where she had been a patient for three weeks following a stroke.

Augusta Holke, daughter of Charles and Julianna Miller Holke, was born in Henry County August 19, 1863, and was reared and educated here. She married August Borst in Geneseo September 1, 1897 , and following their marriage the moved to Rock Island where they have since resided. Mrs. Borst was of Lutheran faith. Survivors include the widower; one sister, Mrs. Fred Rahn of Geneseo; and two nieces and two nephews. Relatives from Geneseo who attended the funeral services were Mrs. Fred Rahn and daughter, Eva; Mrs. Emma Karew, August and Alfred Maeltzer, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Holke, Robert and Mary Miller, Mrs. Bertha Blankenfield, Ella Pobanz, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hints, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Erdman, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Holke and son Alfred, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Krueger, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Ristau, Mrs. Lyle Henry and Ed Miller.
