Chalres August Hammerstrom

The funeral of Charles August Hammerstrom, who died at midnight on Wednesday night of last week, was held from the Baptist Church at 2 PM last Saturday afternoon. Rev. Holbrook officiated, and was largely attended. Interment was made in Western Cemetery .

Charles August Hammerstrom was born December 31, 1844 , at Morlunda Socken, Colmar Ian, Sweden . He arrived in America on the 18th day of April, 1869, and has made this neighborhood his home ever since.

He was married first to Christina Carolina Johans, on July 5, 1872, and to this union were born 2 sons, Henry Carl, now of Davis, SD, and George, who died in February, 1876. He later was married to Johanna Sophia Lars, and to this union was born three daughters, all of whom are now dead. His second wife passed away after a few years. He was later married to Louisa Larson, of Peoria ,who is left to mourn his loss, together with his son Henry and three grandsons, Clarence, Lester and Edward Hammerstrom in South Dakota .
