Geneseo Republic May 22, 1903

Mrs. Charlotte Holke died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Willan Wanner on Aldrich Street Firday, may 15, 1903. Deceased although well along in years enjoyed good health until last February when an attack of grip brought on intirmities which finally resulted in death.

She was a native of Germany and was born July 13, 1825 . She was married to David Holke in 1852 and with him came to this country in 1864. They settled in Geneseo first an later removed to a farm near Spring creek which has remained the property of the family until now. Mr. Holke died in 1876.

Three children survive the passing of the mother, August Holke, Arnold Holke, and Mrs. Florentine Wanner. Mrs. Holke was a member of the German Lutheran Church from childhood and her life was that of a consistent christian woman devoted to the care of her household and cheerfully performing the duties which fell to her lot. Funeral services were conducted at the German Lutheran Church Sunday at 2 p.m. her pastor Rev. Chr. Bergen officiating.

The Interment was in the family lot in the Baxter cemetery.
