May 11 1883 Geneseo Republic

It being desirable that no soldiers grave be overlooked during the Decoration services May 30th we have looked up, as closely as we could, the names and place of burial of soldiers in Geneseo. For much of the information gained we are indebted to Mr. R. D. Boice, Secretary of Oakwood Cemetery Association, who accompained us and assisted in the locations of graves. We will also add that previous to the decoration service he will mark all soldiers ' graves with flags and names, where the latter do not appear on the stone at the grave. The list is as follows:

In addition to these we suppose the "Garfield Memorial Tree" will be decked with a few garlands. If anyone in the community can supply the names of commands of soldiers in the above list where the same are not known, or if any soldier not mentioned in the list are known to be buried in either of the Geneseo cemeteries, information of the same will be thankfully received by Mr. Boice.
