Allen, Herschell Dwain

Herschell Dwain Allen, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Allen, living on Spring Creek died May 20 th of scarlet fever, aged (illegible) years 4 months and 14 days.

Herschell was a bright and happy little fellow, full of his childish pranks and play, and was just entering upon his first school days, and his bright and win-(illegible) face will be sadly missed by his little schoolmates, as well by all who knew him. It is this season of the year that we go forth into the fields and gardens and select the choicest flowers to adorn our homes, so God steps into our homes and plucks from our family circle a treasured blossom and transplants it into His Heavenly kingdom, and it is with reluctance we say Thy will be done. Little Herschell has been transplanted into the fair field through which flows the river of life and there will be no night there (illegible) eternal light and bloom, and the sweetness of his life will be wafted to us from the shores of Time, and his little hand will beckon us to him.

Submitter Note: Herschell was aged 7 years 4 month and 14 days at time of death.
