Welcome to Henry County! I'm your host Wini Caudell. Henry County is a county rich in history with many emigrants settling here in hopes of a better life for them and their children. I hope to put a lot of information on this site for everyone to find. It's very important to find your roots, without knowing your past and where you came from there will always that question in your life.

Anyone contributing any information can be sure it will always be free and nobody will make any profit from it. This site belongs to everyone!

If you have anything to contribute please contact me at winicaudell@yahoo.com

All contributions are sincerely welcomed!!

Article About Robin Pardus

True Immigrant Stories: The Swedes of Cleveland, Ohio, 1873-2013

In this book, Lilly Setterdahl describes how the Swedish settlement began in the late 19th century and continued well into the late 20th century. Skilled ironworkers formed the nucleus of the enclave and encouraged friends and relatives to join them. They came directly from Sweden—from Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, or Canada. They founded hurches, organizations, and businesses. Some educated themselves to become doctors, dentists, engineers, and professor. The oral histories in this book highlight the immigrants’ background in Sweden, voyage to America, first jobs, struggles, and achievements.

Help Wanted!!

I am looking for volunteers who live in Henry Co. or the surrounding area who might be willing to do some transcriptions from old newspapers, obits or anything that may be available to transcribe for this web site.

Also, looking for volunteer's with a digital camera to photograph the cemetery gravestones in Henry County.

I'd sure appreciate the help!
