Irma Gradert, 82, of Annawan, died Friday, June 15, 1990 at home. Survivors include a sister Helen Mariman and a nephew, Vernon Mariman, both of Geneseo. Funeral services for Mrs. Gradert were held Monday, June 18 at Stackhouse-Moore funeral home, Annawan with the Rev. Francis Engels officiating. Burial was in Oakwood cemetery. Pallbearers were Eldred Shaw, Donald Moon, Terry Esser, Robert Davis, Jeffrey Johnson and Vernon Mariman. Memorials may be made to the Annawan rescue unit. Mrs. Gradert was born April 10, 1908 in St. Marguerite , Belgium , the daughter of August and Clara (Dumanlin) Meulebroeck. She  came to Atkinson in 1910, where she married Lloyd Gradert March 20, 1929 .  He died in 1985. Mrs. Gradert and her husband farmed in rural Annawan for 28 years, retiring to Annawan in 1957. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic church, Annawan.
