Obit of Mrs. Juliana Holke:
Mrs. Juliana Miller Holke, wife of Mr. CharlesHolke, died at her home in Geneseo sunday evening, Dec. 18, 1904 , after an illness of but two weeks. Mrs. Holke shortly after being taken sick suffered a stroke of paralysis which hastened the end.
Deceased had been a resident of this vicinity since 1864, residing until two years ago west of town. She was a woman held in high esteem because of her kindly and Christian character, and her passing is mourned, by many outside the family circle. Her life was especially beauatiful in her home where she gave her love and labor to the securing of comfort and promoting the welfare of her family. Dulring the many years of her married life she was ever the cheerful help mate of her husband and with him had retired from the active duties of life to enjoy the closing days in a beautiful home erected by them on Main Street when death came.
Mrs. Holke loved that which was beaautiful and had great pleasure in the cultivation of flowers. Juliana Miller was born in Schwetz. , West Prussia , Germany . March 2, 1834, and was married to Mr. Charles Holke Jan. 29, 1859 . With him she came to America in 1864 and lived in Osco and later Edford Township until coming to Geneseo nearly two years ago.
Eight children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Holke, three sons preceding the mother in death and five children surviving with the husband and father. They are, Mrs. Augusta Borst of Rock Isand, Louis, Hulda and Frank of Geneseo, Mrs. Amanda Rahn, of Edford township. There also survive a sister, Mrs. Carolina Schultz of this city, and a sister living in Germany . Funeral Services were held at the German Lutheran Church , of which denomination she was a member from childhood, Wednesday at 1 P.M. , Rev. Chr. Bergen officiating
