Funeral services for Lois T. DeSplinter, 80, were held Tuesday, May 15, at the Annawan Community United Methodist church, the Revs. Linda and Joe Richard officiating. Mrs DeSplinter was a resident in the extended care unit of Hammond Henry hospital, Geneseo and formerly of Annawan. She died Saturday May 12, 1990 . Burial was in Annawan cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Annawan Community United Methodist church of which she was a member or to the Annawan Rescue unit. Henry VanDeVoorde and Lauren Reck served as honoray pallbearers. Acting pallbearers were Frank Mapes, Steven Eilers, Arden Williams, Dale DeSplinter, Robert Geiger and Maurice Atwell.

Lois Gradert was born June 28, 1909 in Bureau county, daughter of J. Henry and Hulda (Leonhart) Gradert. She married Raymond DeSplinter on July 4, 1930 in Princeton . He died October 19, 1977 . She was a cook for the Annawan school district for a number of years. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Eugene (Phyliss) Eilers of rural Prophetstown and Marlene DeSplinter of Bettendorf , Iowa ; a grandson, Steven Eilers of Moline ; a granddaughter, Mrs. Frank (Sherri) Mapes of Atkinson; four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers and three sisters.
