Mrs. Louise Agusta Blankenfelt 

  Louise Augusta Blankenfelt was Born in West Prussia, Germany, Dec. 12, 1832, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Klavohn, in Phenix township, March 13, 1920, aged 87 years, 3 months, and l day.  The deceased with her husband came to this country from Germany in the year 1900, and settled in the vicinity of Geneseo.  Later they moved to Loraine where they spent forty-six years, mostly in the pursuit of farming. 

About eight years ago Mrs. and Mrs. Blankenfelt came to live with her daughter, Mrs. John Klavohn.  For the past two years she was bedfast, and recently it was known that she could not live long, and so she peacefully fell asleep in death on Saturday morning of last week.  She was married to John Blankenfelt in the year 1864 and to this union there was born seven childre, five of whom died in infancy.  One son died near Milan in 1916.  Mrs. Emma Klavohn is the only surviving child.  Mrs. Blankenfelt was brought up in the Lutheran faith and had a warm esteem for the scriptures.  She took muvch delight in her Bible which she read to the comfort of her soul.  She died with the Christian's hope. 

She is survived by her husband, John Blankenfelt, and her daughter Mrs. John Klavohn; also ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren.  The funeral was held at the Klavohn home four miles northwest of Geneseo, Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock , and was conducted by Rev. E. K. Hershey, of Grace chuch.  The body was laid to its last resting place in the North cemetery.
